ELEVATOR REMOVAL

The removal and decommissioning of elevators are a process that carries high risk and liability. More accidents occur during lift removals. Risks associated with removing a lift make it vital that qualified technicians with experience perform this task. We at Utility Elevators have the knowledge and a team of hands-on technicians in the de-installed, regardless of the project size.

There are various reasons why lift removals are needed – this can be down to a standalone project, removal prior to a new lift installation, which may be a complete or partial upgrade project, or building demolition.
  • Removal: This option completely removes the elevator or escalator from your premises. The only items that remain are the elevator shaft and the motor room.
  • Dismantle: This option is a much lower-cost solution to decommission a system legally. We remove all electric wires, cables, oil, and other items from the elevator system and securely seal the doors. Dismantling your device will allow you to upgrade and modernize the elevator at a later time while not worrying about the hassle of maintaining a device that is rarely or never used, as well as removing potential hazardous situations.

Because it is a complex process, we at Utility Elevators take a comprehensive approach to elevator de-installation and the removal of all types of elevators. Every de-installation presents its own challenges. Our experienced field engineers and project managers will carry out a comprehensive risk assessment focusing on a “SAFE” method of removal and disposal.

Survey each job in totality to get the big picture and define the scope of work to be completed.
Assess risks, ramifications of each step taken, and mitigation (Full Risk Assessment).
Facilitate, from beginning to end, with adequately equipped and well-trained personnel.
Execute a well-planned process using clear, concise communication with customers and other affected role players.

We know what is required to ensure your old elevator is removed safely and efficiently and your new one installed in the shortest amount of time.
